GT + Varanasi & Khajuraho — FAQs

Why include both Varanasi and Khajuraho?
Khajuraho’s medieval temples are one of India’s three UNESCO-listed temple groupings, and they’re geographically en route to Varanasi from the Golden Triangle. Pairing them with Varanasi is the most efficient way to see all of central and eastern India’s cultural highlights in a single trip.
How much do the internal flights add?
Included in the package price. We use scheduled flights on Indigo or Air India Express, the most reliable carriers on these sectors.
Is the Khajuraho temple imagery suitable for families?
Yes — Khajuraho’s reputation rests on artistic merit, and the temples are visited by Indian families daily. Your guide will narrate the historical and architectural significance, not just the erotic sculpture for which they’re sometimes sensationalised.
What's the best time of year for this itinerary?
October through March. The Varanasi sunrise is more pleasant in cooler months, and Khajuraho’s temples are best photographed in the soft light of winter.
Can we extend the Varanasi portion?
Yes — many travellers add a 2-day Bodhgaya extension from Varanasi for the Buddhist pilgrimage circuit. Mention it at enquiry and we’ll redesign the itinerary.
