Taj Mahal with Chambal Crocodile Safari Tour
Tour Overview
Two unforgettable sides of India in two days. This Taj Mahal with Chambal Crocodile Safari Tour begins with the Taj Mahal at sunrise in Agra, then escapes to the tranquil wilderness of the Chambal River — a stay at a peaceful safari lodge, an evening river walk, and a boat safari among gharials, crocodiles and rare birds.
The Chambal is one of India’s cleanest rivers and a protected sanctuary, where you can spot the rare and endangered gharial, marsh crocodiles, the Gangetic river dolphin and a wealth of birdlife with a resident naturalist. It’s the perfect pairing of cultural icon and unspoilt nature, ideal as an add-on after arriving in Agra from Delhi.

Why Book This Tour With Us
Taj Mahal Day Tours is operated by Perfect Agra Tours, a local, family-run company approved by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and a member of IATO, ASTA and TOFT India (see accreditation details below). We have welcomed travellers from the US, UK, Europe and Australia for over a decade, with a 5.0-star track record on TripAdvisor. Agra is our home — our office is in Tajganj, beside the Taj.
We time the Taj for the magic of sunrise, arrange a comfortable Chambal safari lodge, and bring in a local naturalist for the river safari and birdwatching — so your two days flow from monument to wilderness with ease. Book direct and you pay the operator, not a marketplace commission.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Taj Mahal at sunrise & on to Chambal
An early pickup from your Agra hotel for the Taj Mahal at sunrise — the marble shifting from soft pastels to shimmering gold, with calm gardens and few crowds. Explore the mausoleum, mosque and symmetrical gardens with your guide, then browse Agra’s artisan market for marble inlay and handicrafts.
After a Mughlai lunch and a short rest, drive through rural landscapes to your Chambal Safari Lodge. In the evening, enjoy a gentle riverside nature walk and sunset, followed by dinner at the lodge.
Birdwatching, the Chambal river safari & return to Agra
After breakfast, join a guided birdwatching session — kingfishers, Indian skimmers, sarus cranes, eagles and seasonal migrants — then the highlight: a serene boat safari on the Chambal River in search of gharials, marsh crocodiles, river dolphins and more.
Enjoy lunch at the lodge or a riverside picnic, a little more wildlife exploration, then drive back to Agra in the afternoon, arriving with unforgettable memories.
