7 Days Golden Triangle Tour with Wildlife SOS

Tour Overview

The Golden Triangle paired with two of India’s most meaningful wildlife experiences: a half-day at Wildlife SOS in Mathura (the rescue and rehabilitation centre for retired performing elephants and dancing bears) and 2 days of tiger safaris in Ranthambore National Park.

Wildlife SOS is one of South Asia’s most respected animal-welfare NGOs. Their Mathura facility hosts elephants rescued from temple work, circuses, and street begging — many arrive blind, malnourished, or with chronic wounds. A guided visit shows you the long rehabilitation process up close, and the sanctuary accepts a small entrance fee that funds the rescue. It’s a profoundly different experience from a typical zoo visit and one of the genuinely ethical wildlife encounters available to travellers in India.

The Ranthambore portion adds the thrill of tiger spotting in one of India’s most accessible national parks — with two safaris (morning and afternoon) maximising your chances of seeing tigers in the wild.

GT + Wildlife SOS — FAQs

What's special about Wildlife SOS?
It’s one of the few genuinely ethical wildlife experiences in northern India. Unlike elephant-back rides at tourist sites — which the welfare community broadly condemns — Wildlife SOS exists to retire elephants OUT of that work. You meet the elephants on their terms, learn the rescue story of each, and the small entrance fee directly funds ongoing care.
Are tiger sightings in Ranthambore guaranteed?
No park can guarantee tigers, but Ranthambore has India’s best-documented sighting rates outside Bandhavgarh — typically 60-75% chance of a tiger sighting across 2 safaris. We maximise your odds by booking morning AND afternoon safaris on the same day.
Jeep or canter?
The Forest Department allocates vehicles by zone and date — we don’t control this. Canters (20-seat shared) cost less; private jeeps (6-seat) are more comfortable and easier to manoeuvre for sightings. Mention your preference at enquiry and we’ll request a private jeep where available.
Can we donate more to Wildlife SOS at the centre?
Yes — they accept donations on-site and can adopt-an-elephant programmes for ongoing sponsorship. Your guide will explain the options.
What's the best time of year for Ranthambore?
October to mid-June. The park closes during the July-September monsoon. Best tiger sightings are typically March-May (hot, but tigers concentrate at waterholes).
